Air Blowers
An Air blower is an essential part for the effective working of a wate water Treatment Unit. Air blowers operate on a continues basis. They pump clean air into the Wastewater treatment Plant helping the bacteria to thrive. They use very little electricity and are very quiet whilst in operation. At Bio Unit Care I service, and repair all makes and models of Air blowers.
When replacing an air blower and fitting a new one I always give the customer the various options available. See chart below:
Resun LP 60 Air Blower is a cost effective and hard working. They work with an electromagnetic diaphragm and are oil free. They are very quiet whilst in operation and come supplied with an aluminium casing. This air blower will continue to work (if serviced) for approximately 7 years.
SECOH EL Series Air Blower 60L/80L is a very reliable and long-life air blower. If serviced and maintained properly this air blower will keep working well over 10 years.
These are some advantages of the Secoh air blower:
- Integrated overload protection
The EL series are supplied with a thermal overload protection. The contact breaks when the temperature of the windings reaches hazard value of the probe at 130°C. After the coil has cooled down below 120°C, the blower starts again automatically. - Protective switch (auto stopper)
The EL series is supplied with a protection switch, in case of a diaphragm break. It consists of a micro switch which turns off the blower. Due to the fact, the blower is protected against deviation. - Fault alarm lamp
The EL series may optional is provided with a fault alarm lamp. These air pumps will indicate any diaphragm fault of the linear motor with a signal lamp, placed on the outside cover of the air pump. - Long life expectancy

The SLL and EL series are rainproof and weatherproof. However, they should not be exposed to direct sunlight, rain or snow.
Medo LA 80B Air Blowers are made by Nitto Kohki who are a world-renowned Japanese designer and manufacturer of high-tech components, tools and machines. These air blowers do not use a diaphragm. Instead they use a piston system. This makes this air blowers very reliable and if serviced will continue to work for well over 12 years.
These are the advantages of the Medo LA 80B air blower:
- Self-cooling design. Cool intake air is blown onto the electro-magnetic coils through an orifice, making sealed construction possible and preventing the escape of operating noise.
- Low noise level. The machine has no complex transmission system. This results in the lowest noise level possible due to the absence of rotating parts or ball bearings. Operating noise is also quelled due to the pump's sealed configuration.s
- Low Power Consumption. The piston is the only component in the system which moves. The absence of transmission usage to pass the power to the piston means that there is a large reduction in energy loss, and an improvement in efficiency over other pumps.
- Compact composite structure. This unique system enables direct reciprocation of a single part which consists of composite piston and armature. The incredibly compact and lightweight design was achieved by combining what are two different functions in other pumps - motor and piston - into a single structure.
- Anti-overpressure mechanism. When the output pressure exceeds the rated value the piston stroke will automatically diminish and prevent over-pressurising. At the same time, the current and power consumption will also be automatically reduced, thus eliminating possible failure caused by tentative overload.
- Low vibration. The aluminium die-cast piston produces very little vibration or kick-backs. Little or no damage from vibration stress is therefore sustained during operation. Even secondary vibrations are absorbed by special soft rubber feet.
- Longer Durability. Oil free construction requires no periodical oil-up. This simple mechanism has the fewest number of moving parts possible. Long and stable performance is assured
