Sewerage Pumps
If your treatment unit has a submersible sewerage pump, then this needs to be working. These are fitted If the drainage in your area is poor or if you are on an elevated site. The sewerage pump pumps the wastewater from the final chamber or pumping station up to the raised percolation bed. Most of these domestic sewerage pumps work with a float switch and only engage when the level rises. If this stops working, then your treatment unit will start to fill up. These high-quality sewage pumps usually have a life span of about 10 years. The lifespan of a pump also depends on how well and often the Treatment Unit has been maintained. Depending on your make and model some pumps can be repaired, others are a maintenance free construction and simply need to be replaced when they cease to work.
